Gale Center of History and Culture, 10300 S. Beckstead Lane, South Jordan, will host "Terrific Tuesday With G.I. Matt," Jan. 24, 6 p.m. Admission is free (801-254-3048 or www.galecenter.org)

Stokes Nature Center, 2696 E. Highway 89, Logan, will host the Backcountry Film Festival, Jan. 24, 6:30 p.m. All the films in the festival will highlight winter recreation activities. Admission is $10. (435-755-3239 or www.logannature.org)

Hogle Zoo, 2600 E. Sunnyside Ave., will host "Lunch With a Keeper," Jan. 28, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Guests ages 6-10 are invited to attend with an adult to learn about cats. Admission is $40 per adult-child pair and includes lunch. (801-582-1631 or www.hoglezoo.org)

Salt Palace Convention Center, 100 S. West Temple, will host "The Do's and Don'ts of a Showbiz Parent," a workshop with Christina Aguilera's mother, Shelly Kearns, Jan. 28, 1-2:15 p.m. Admission is $25 per parent, and reservations are required. (801-495-3262)

Westminster College, 1840 S. 1300 East, will host multiple activities in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Jan. 28, 2-5:30 p.m. A total of 16 different activities ranging from hip-hop dancing to volleyball. Bountiful/Davis Art Center, 745 S. Main, Bountiful, has re-opened its Jean Madsen Children's Center. The center offers hands-on activities teaching children about the elements of art. (801-292-0367 or www.bdac.org)

Lehi Arts Center, 685 N. Center, Lehi, is accepting registration for its winter workshops for children. A variety of classes will be offered, including musical theater, guitar and art classes. Visit www.LehiCityArts.com or call 801-369-8806 for additional information or to register.

Magna Library, 2675 S. 8950 West, will show "Rango," Jan. 23, 6 p.m. The library will also host an animal program, Jan. 28, 1 p.m.

Draper Library, 1136 E. Pioneer Road, Draper, will host a family movie night, Jan. 23, 7 p.m. The library will also host a "Diary of a Whimpy Kid," activity, Jan. 26, 4:15 p.m.

Day-Riverside Library, 1575 W. 1000 North, will host "Whizgiggle Puppets: Fantastic Fairy Tales for Funny Folks," Jan. 23, 7 p.m., and Jan. 28, 4 p.m.

Riverton Library, 12877 S. 1830 West Road, Riverton, will host a magic show, Jan. 23, 7 p.m.

West Jordan Library, 1970 W. 7800 South, will host "Pajama Time," Jan. 23, 7 p.m. The library will also host a speed stacking activity, Jan. 25, 4 p.m.

Ruth Vine Tyler Library, 8041 South Wood Street, Midvale, will offer a drop-in packing peanut snowman craft, Jan. 24, 2 p.m. The library will also host a family movie night, Jan. 25, 6:30 p.m., and a writing workshop for teens, Jan. 28, 3 p.m.

Kearns Library, 5350 S. 4220 West, will host knitting for teens, Jan. 24, 3 p.m.

Sandy Library, 10100 South Petunia Way, will show "Kung Fu Panda 2," Jan. 26, 4 p.m.
