Jessie Christensen Taylor1913 ~ 2012Jessie Christensen Taylor passed away peacefully 17 January 2012 in Sandy, Utah. She was born 20 March 1913 in Fillmore, Utah to James Franklin Christensen and Helen Alice Nadauld Christensen. Growing up in Kanosh, Utah, Jessie contracted polio as a baby, crippling her legs but not her spirit. She married Ezra Whipple Taylor 25 June 1948, and a son, John Christensen Taylor, was born to them 7 September 1949. The family was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple 22 March 1950. They lived in Rose Park for over 55 years.An accomplished artist, Jessie shared her talents freely, often using them as she served valiantly in the LDS Church. Jessie's and Ezra's faith in Jesus Christ remained strong throughout their lives, even with the untimely death in 1971 of their son, John. Jessie's beloved husband, Ezra, preceded her in death 21 July 2001.Jessie is survived by sisters, Ethelyn Grane and Jeanne Bushnell, a sister-in-law, Rula Christensen and many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, and by a sister, Fern Johnson, and brothers, Frank LaMar (Beulah) and Leavitt Christensen.Her family expresses gratitude to her kind caregivers at Legacy House Cottage, Inspiration Hospice, Sandy Health and Rehab, and to Kalesita Langi and Meleane Mahi. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 24 January at 1:00 p.m. at Jenkins Soffe South Valley, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South) with a viewing held from noon to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
