With the passing of Canadian freestyle skier Sarah Burke, thousands have taken to Twitter and other social media websites to express their thoughts.
Friend and former teammate Roz Groenewoud tweeted: "Thankyou for being a great teammate for 6 years and for believing in me more than I ever did myself. You'll always be my hero. Loveyou Sarah"
The Canadian Olympic Team tweeted: "Our deepest, heartfelt condolences to Sarah Burke's family and friends. This true champion will be missed."

Multiple Facebook groups have been created in her memory.
Now that freeskiing will be included in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, The Toronto Star reports that safety concerns have been put in the spotlight.
