Texas Gov. Rick Perry is dropping out of the race for the GOP presidential nomination Thursday, CNN is reporting.
An announcement is expected later this morning. It is not known if Perry will endorse one of the remaining candidates. Perry had dubbed frontrunner Mitt Romney a vulture capitalist, and joined former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich in criticizing Romneys business record.
Perrys exit leaves Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum both fighting for the conservative vote in Saturdays Republican primary in South Carolina.

Watching the Republicans battle it out is more fun than watching professional wrestling on the tube. Makes just about as much sense, too.
It is a good sign for america that the republican base is rejecting the the type of candidate that appeals to the extreme social conservatives in this country.
