Brigham Young University will host a Martin Luther King Jr. walk and community outreach day, Jan. 16. A service project will begin at 8:30 a.m., a walk at 5:30 p.m. and a commemorative program at 6 p.m. Specific locations vary. (801-422-3065 or multicultural.byu.edu/black-history-month)

Thanksgiving Point, 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way, Lehi, will host the Ophir-Tintic & Western Model Railroad Club train show, Jan. 20, 3-9 p.m., and Jan. 21, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children ages 11 and under. (801-768-2300 or www.thanksgivingpoint.org)

Hogle Zoo, 2600 E. Sunnyside Ave., will host "Cats and Cocoa," Jan. 21, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The event is free with regular admission of $9 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and children 3-12 and free for children younger than 2. (801-582-1631 or www.hoglezoo.org)

Tracy Aviary, 589 E. 1300 South, will host "Andy's 53rd Bird Day," to celebrate its Andean Condor, Jan. 21, 1-3 p.m. Admission of $7 for adults, $5 for children ages 3-12 and $6 for senior citizens and students. "Whizgiggle Puppets: Fantastic Fairy Tales for Funny Folks" will be performed at Sprague Library, 2131 S. 1100 East, Jan. 17, 6 p.m.; Anderson-Foothill Library, 1135 S. 2100 East, Jan. 20, 4 p.m.; and Day-Riverside Library, 1135 S. 2100 East, Jan. 21, 12:30 p.m.

Kearns Library, 5350 S. 4220 West, will show "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh," Jan. 18, 4 p.m.

Sandy Library, 10100 South Petunia Way, will host "Gone: True Life Adventure Stories," Jan. 18, 7 p.m. The library will also host a candy sushi Anime lock-in party for children ages 10-17, Jan. 20, 6-8 p.m.

South Jordan Library, 10673 S. Redwood Road, will host a yo-yo demonstration and workshop with Dale Myrberg, Jan. 19, 6 p.m. Registration is required.

West Valley Library, 2880 W. 3650 South, will host a Mad Hatter tea party for teens, Jan. 20, 3-5 p.m.

Hunter Library, 4740 W. 4100 South, will host "CSI Friday Fun," Jan. 20, 3:30 p.m. The library will also host a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament, Jan. 21, 2-5:30 p.m.
