Utah Jazz-Cleveland Cavaliers: Report card

SALT LAKE CITY The Utah Jazz are on fire.

They won their sixth straight game by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-105 on Tuesday night. Their defense could have been better, but it was another overall solid performance for the surprising Jazz.

GUARDS: It was a big day for Raja Bell, whose wife gave birth to their third son on Tuesday morning. On the court, his minutes were again limited and he scored six points on 3-for-5 shooting. He again sat out the entire fourth quarter. Devin Harris' game was better than the stat sheet reads. He shot 1-for-5 while dishing four assists in 33 minutes. He was pretty effective at running Utah's offense though. Cleveland rookie Kyrie Irving was easily the best guard in the game.

Grade: B-

FORWARDS: The Cavs are lucky Paul Millsap got in foul trouble and fouled out because he was killing them. Millsap made his first nine shots and scored a season-high 19 points. Gordon Hayward struggled with his shot (1-for-5), but dished a career-high eight assists. Antawn Jamison scored 22 points for Cleveland, but took 18 shots to get there.

Grade: B

CENTERS: Al Jefferson was outstanding, finishing with a season-high 30 points and a season-high 12 rebounds. Cleveland's Anderson Varejao had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and spent much of the game in foul trouble.

Grade: A

BENCH: Josh Howard continues to spark the Jazz, as he finished with 17 points and four rebounds. Derrick Favors also had a solid game while dealing with -- wait for it -- foul trouble. He had 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting. The Jazz surprisingly let Alonzo Gee and Ramon Sessions score in double figures, but outscored Cleveland's bench 47-38.

Grade: A-

COACHING: Corbin's rotation was a little more predictable in this game -- going to Howard first off the bench among the small forwards and sitting Bell for the entire fourth quarter. He's using Howard, Favors and Watson well and in good spots.

Grade: A-

OVERALL: No one could have predicted that the Jazz would win six straight games at any point this season, or that they'd win their first five home games. Tuesday's effort might have been their best of the season as they efficiently executed their offense, got many good looks at the basket and scored 56 points in the paint. The schedule gets tougher on Wednesday with a visit from the Lakers, but go ahead and enjoy the team's success so far.
