Summary

If it wasn't for a couple of basketball games, Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak might be spending some time catching up with some old friends this weekend in the Bay Area.

When asked about it, Foster said he hasn't decided what to do if he's unable to play this year, but said he is open to the idea of coming back next year.

UTE NOTES: Thursday's game with Stanford will be the first between the Utes and Cardinal since the thrilling Sweet 16 matchup between the two teams in 1997 in San Jose, which Utah won 82-77 in overtime. …Josh Watkins ranks fourth in the Pac-12 in scoring at 15.6 ppg and second in assists at 4.9 apg. …Jason Washburn is fourth in the Pac-12 in field goal percentage at 58.3 percent and fifth in rebounding at 6.9 rpg and eighth in free-throw percentage at 78.3 percent. … Utah's next home games are Jan. 19 and 21 against Arizona and Arizona State, respectively.

Since Stanford and Cal coaches are good friends of Coach Kry, hopefully they'll give his team some mercy. Both games are likely 20+ point loses for the Utes.

Glad to see Foster is considering coming back next year. That would help tremendously.

Good luck to the Utes against Stanford and Cal. Tough road trip against some very well coached teams.

Few teams ever get beyond the sweet sixteen or even the first round by playing the tempo Dave Rose is playing - though fun to watch.
