BEREA, Ohio — Browns coach Pat Shurmur says he's the one ultimately responsible for his team's mistakes.Comment on this story
Two blunders on Saturday in Baltimore were costly in a 20-14 loss to the Ravens. Browns backup quarterback Seneca Wallace botched a scoring opportunity at the end of the first half and rookie defensive tackle Phil Taylor jumped offside on fourth down in the final two minutes to seal Baltimore's win. Shurmur said there are no excuses and the Browns "have to play smarter."
Shurmur also had no update on quarterback Colt McCoy, who hasn't been cleared to practice since suffering a concussion Dec. 8 against Pittsburgh. Shurmur said McCoy took part in team meetings Monday and the team won't know until Wednesday if he'll be able to practice.
