SPECIAL EVENTS

EVE Salt Lake City activities will be held at multiple locations, including the Salt Palace Convention Center, Broadway Centre Cinemas, Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, Clark Planetarium and Temple Square, Dec. 29-31, times vary. Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South, will host "The Nutty Nutcracker," a Ballet West spoof of "The Nutcracker," Dec. 30, 7 p.m., and Dec. 31, 2 p.m. Tickets are $18-$74. (801-355-2787 or www.arttix.org)

Treehouse Museum, 347 22nd St., Ogden, will host a family New Year's Eve party, Dec. 31, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 and under. (801-394-9663 or www.treehousemuseum.org)

BYU Bean Life Science Museum, BYU, Provo, offers a free nativity scene through Dec. 31, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (801-422-5051)

Canyon View Park, 3300 E. Powerhouse Road, Spanish Fork, will host the Spanish Fork Festival of Lights through Dec. 31, 6-10 p.m. Admission is $5 per car, $15 per van and $25 per bus. (801-804-4500)

The Living Planet Aquarium, 725 E. 10600 South, will host an electric eel Christmas tree display, through Dec. 31. The display is free with regular aquarium admission (801-355-3474 or www.thelivingplanet.com)

Salt Lake Acting Company, 168 W. 500 North, will offer its production of "How I Became a Pirate," Dec. 9-30. Dates and times vary. Tickets are $15 for children and $25 for adults (801-363-7522 or www.saltlakeactingcompany.org)

Temple Square will offer its light display and multiple free performance events will be available at the Assembly Hall, Joseph Smith Memorial Building and Tabernacle through Dec. 31. (www.lds.org/events)

Willard Bay State Park, 900 W. 650 North, Willard, will offer its Fantasy at the Bay light display through Jan. 1, 5-10 p.m. Admission is $9 per vehicle (435-734-9294)
