Kris Humphries is getting back together with ... the New Jersey Nets.
The power forward was back in New Jersey on Wednesday after re-signing with the Nets, a one-year deal worth a reported $8 million.
"I'm excited to be back," said Humphries, who was working out in Minneapolis while trying to secure a new contract. "It's good to see the guys again. Although it's a one-year deal, I'm happy and motivated. I think if you ask any player, they all would want a max contract with the longest terms. But I'm happy with the deal and glad to be back."
The 26-year-old Humphries went through an eventful offseason, despite an NBA lockout that kept players away from their jobs longer than expected.
Humphries married reality TV star Kim Kardashian and, just 72 days later, the couple split up.
ROSE AGREES TO RICH FIVE-YEAR DEAL: Derrick Rose was going down the list, thanking just about everyone who helped him become one of the NBA's best players, when he looked to his right.
Seated off to the side was his mother, Brenda.
"I think I can finally say this now. Mom, I finally made it," he said.
Rose, the Chicago Bulls' superstar point guard and the league's reigning MVP, agreed Wednesday to a five-year contract extension worth more than $94 million that kicks in next season.
WARRIORS' ELLIS FACES LAWSUIT: A former Golden State Warriors employee filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against star guard Monta Ellis on Wednesday, alleging Ellis sent her unwanted texts that included a photo of his genitals.
In her lawsuit, which also names the team, Erika Ross Smith alleges Ellis began sending her several dozen explicit messages, sometimes several times a day, starting in November 2010 while she worked for the team's community relations department.
The messages included lines such as, "I want to be with you," and "Hey Sexy," and periodically asked her what she was wearing or doing, according to the lawsuit.
Smith would often reply with "What do you want?" or "I am sleeping," the lawsuit claims.
"On a micro level, my client has endured unwanted harassment, has suffered and continues to suffer emotional distress and trauma," her attorney, Burt Boltuch, said at a news conference in his Oakland office. "On a macro level, this type of conduct, especially in the sports world, must stop."
KOBE SUFFERS TORN LIGAMENT IN RIGHT WRIST: Kobe Bryant did not play in the Los Angeles Lakers' preseason finale against the Clippers on Wednesday night because of a torn ligament in his right wrist, and his status for the season-opener on Christmas Day is up in the air.
An MRI revealed the extent of the injury, which occurred early in the third quarter of the Lakers' 114-95 loss to the Clippers on Monday night. Bryant was examined by Dr. Steven Shin of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. Depending on the degree of the tear, he could be sidelined as long as three to four weeks.
DALEMBERT, ROCKETS AGREE TO DEAL: A person with knowledge of the deal says free-agent center Samuel Dalembert has agreed to terms with the Houston Rockets.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no announcement has been made.
ESPN.com first reported that Dalembert had reached terms with Houston, a two-year deal worth $13.7 million that included a team option for the second year.
The 6-foot-11 Dalembert averaged 8.1 points and 8.2 rebounds for Sacramento last season. He played his first eight seasons in Philadelphia after the 76ers made him a first-round pick in 2001.
KAMAN, GORDON SHINE IN HORNETS' DEBUT: Chris Kaman scored 18 points and Eric Gordon added 17 in their first game with New Orleans, leading the Hornets to a 95-80 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
Gordon and Kaman both came over in the Dec. 14 trade that sent All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers.
