Redskins' convincing win offers blueprint for 2012

"That's what you try to do as a coach, saying, 'Hey, do we have everybody preparing as hard as they can, people playing as hard as they can?'" Shanahan said. "It always doesn't relate to winning and losing, but you make sure you put that in the back of your mind when you're deciding what direction to go with personnel the following year."

Notes: Shanahan said CB Josh Wilson, who had one of the secondary's three interceptions, was "a little woozy" from a hit during the game and will be tested Tuesday for a possible concussion. ... Rookie RB Roy Helu, whose streak of 100-yard games ended at three, was banged up with toe and knee injuries, according to the coach. ... Shanahan said LT Trent Williams and TE Fred Davis will be allowed to take part in some activities at Redskins Park while serving their suspensions for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. The coach said he will give more details after talking to the two players. ... Because of the upcoming Saturday game, practice will start a day earlier this week, with players reconvening Tuesday instead of Wednesday.
