Norma Christina Skog Wahlen"Our Special Angel"07/24/1932 ~ 12/14/2011On December 14, 2011, "Our Special Angel", Our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and friend, passed away peacefully to join her beloved family members on the other side just in time for Christmas. She was blessed to pass in the comfort of her own home with her adoring children at her side. She left this earthly life exactly two months to the day after the passing of her sweetheart Don. After his passing she did not have the will to thrive and died of a broken heart. They had always planned to leave this earth together. Norma was born July 24, 1932 to the proud parents, Eric and Gertrude Skog. She honored and loved her Swedish Heritage. Norma was raised in Murray, Utah and attended Murray High school. She loved her parents and family with all her heart, but she hurt and never understood the many years of separation that occurred with her brother and two sisters. Norma had a beautiful singing voice and a passion for music, she even recorded records, but when she met the love of her life, Donald Edwin Wahlen, having a family and raising children became her true passion and happiness. Norma and Don were married on May 24, 1951 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed to spend 60 years together. To this loving union were born Don E., Linda, Jolene, Tina and Neil. Norma's life drastically changed when she lost her daughter, Linda, in a tragic car accident. She never got over losing her daughter, but found comfort in raising Linda's two children. Norma and Don made their dream come true by creating a true paradise for their children on Dimple Dell Road. Their children and grandchildren have enjoyed an abundance of wild life, while exploring though the forest and streams throughout the property, and even a log cabin they built. There was never much need of a big family vacation as our family was blessed to have it all in our own yard. Norma loved children and took great pleasure in her children and grandchildren. She helped her family in every way a Mother could. She shared her gift of mothering and care giving to all who crossed her path. Blessed are the lives she touched.Norma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Edwin Wahlen; daughter, Linda; parents, Eric and Gertrude Skog; father and mother-in-law, Edwin and Maud Wahlen; daughter-in-law, Kathy; sisters-in-law, Betty and Lois; brother-in-law, Dale; granddaughters, Stephanie and Melissa.
