Sermon celebrates nativity announcement

OREM — Rev. George Lower will be preaching from Psalms and Luke during worship services at the Orem Community Church on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 10:30 a.m. The sermon will focus on the announcement of the birth of Jesus Christ. Special worship services scheduled

SALT LAKE CITY — Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church has scheduled special holiday worship services. The Christmas Eve Carol Worhip will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24, with Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship set for later that evening at 11 p.m. Christmas Day worship will be held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 25. The church is located at 1070 S. Foothill Drive in Salt Lake City.

Pastor to deliver Christmas message

BRIGHAM CITY — Pastor Chad Johnson will deliver a Christmas message during worship service at Rocky Mountain Bible Church on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday school is held at 9:30 a.m. and will feature study of the book of Joshua. Chabad Lubavitch celebrates Chanukah on Ice

SALT LAKE CITY — Chabad Lubavitch of Utah will celebrate Chanukah with free ice skating at the Gallivan Center on 200 South between Main and State Street. Ice skating to live Jewish music will be available from 4-6 p.m., with a menorah lighting ceremony at 6:15 p.m. followed by refreshments of potato latkes, jelly donuts and chocolate gelt. Christmas carol service at Cathedral of the Madeleine

SALT LAKE CITY — The annual Christmas Carol Service at the Cathedral of the Madeleine will be held at three different times this year to give more people an opportunity to attend. The services will be held on Monday, Dec. 19 and Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. each evening, and on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. The Cathedral is located 205 First Avenue.
