Real Salt Lake has announced that it will take part in the 2nd Annual FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup, which will be played at Kino Veteran Memorial Stadium in Tucson Feb. 22-March 3. RSL will be one of four Major League Soccer clubs participating in the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup, as the LA Galaxy, New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls will also play in the newly-expanded preseason tournament.
The event will feature four doubleheader matches on Wednesday and Saturday nights during the two-week span. The round-robin tournament will crown a champion on the final evening through a point accumulation system. All teams will be making their final preparations for the 2012 MLS regular season by training on the world-class fields and facilities of the Kino Sports Complex.
Real Salt Lake continues to finalize its plans for the early portion of its 2012 preseason calendar and expects to announce the details of its full preseason itinerary in the coming weeks.
