Sandy Arts Guild will hold auditions for "Arsenic and Old Lace," Dec. 8, 7-8:30 p.m., at the Sandy Parks and Recreation Building, 440 E. 8680 South. Bluffdale Arts Advisory Board will hold auditions for "Annie Get Your Gun," Dec. 9, 6-9 p.m., and Dec. 10, 9 a.m.-noon. Auditions will be held at a private home, 1957 W. 13930 South. State, will hold auditions for "The Crucible," Dec. 10, 10 a.m. Those interested in auditioning must schedule a 3-5 minute audition time and should come prepared to perform a monologue from classical literature or a segment from "The Crucible." Utah Wind Alliance and Legacy Music Alliance are sponsoring a student concerto competition to give away a total of $11,000 in scholarship money. The competition seeks to identify the states' best college, high school and junior high school woodwind, brass and percussion students. Winners will also have the opportunity to play with the Utah Wind Symphony, March 29, 2012. Students may submit DVD recordings of musical works found on the approved list.
