Pac-12 rankings: Week 13

Published: Wednesday, Nov. 23 2011 5:30 p.m. MST

1. USC (9-2, 6-2)

Last week: Defeated Oregon 38-35

This week: Home vs. UCLA, 8 p.m. MT, ROOT

Note: The Trojans look like the best team in the league after going on the road to knock off Oregon. Unfortunately for USC, this will be the team's last game of the season when they take on rival UCLA.

2. Oregon (9-2, 7-1)

Last week: Lost to USC 38-35

This week: Home vs. Oregon State, 1:30 p.m. MT, ABC

Note: With no national championship to play for, the Ducks still have hope for a BCS bowl and need a win this week to get a spot in the Pac-12 championship game.

3. STANFORD (10-1, 8-1)

Last week: Defeated Cal 31-28

This week: Home vs. Notre Dame, 6 p.m. MT, ABC

Note: The Cardinal are done with their Pac-12 schedule and play their annual game with Notre Dame this week. They'll be rooting for an Oregon State upset against Oregon to get a spot in the league title game.

4. CAL (6-5, 3-5)

Last week: Lost to Stanford 31-28

This week: At Arizona State, 8:15 p.m. MT, Friday, ESPN

Note: The Bears can make Utah fans happy with a road win Friday night. However, they are just 1-4 on the road this year.

5. Utah (7-4, 4-4)

Last week: Defeated Washington State 30-27, OT

This week: Home vs. Colorado, 1:30 p.m. MT, Friday, ROOT

Note: The Utes need help from Cal and USC to get to the championship game, but first they must take care of business Friday afternoon.

6. WASHINGTON (6-5, 4-4)

Last week: Lost to Oregon State 38-21

This week: Home vs. Washington State, 5:30 p.m. MT, Versus

Note: The Huskies' defense has fallen apart and with a loss to their in-state rivals they could end up with one of the league's lesser bowl games.

7. UCLA (6-5, 5-3)

Last week: Defeated Colorado 45-6

This week: At USC, 8 p.m. MT, ROOT

Note: All the Bruins need to do to get into the Pac-12 championship game is to defeat archrival USC Saturday night. It's a tall task, considering the Trojans are the league's best team right now and the Bruins have lost 11 of 12 to their rivals.

8. ARIZONA STATE (6-5, 4-4)

Last week: Lost to Arizona 31-27

This week: Home vs. Cal, 8:15 p.m. MT, Friday, ESPN

Note: Have the Sun Devils already packed it in for the year and given up on coach Dennis Erickson? If not, they can still get into the Pac-12 championship game with a win this week and a UCLA loss.

9. WASHINGTON STATE (4-7, 2-6)

Last week: Lost to Utah 30-27, OT

This week: At Washington, 5:30 p.m. MT, Versus

Note: The Cougars were this close to keeping their bowl hopes alive, but the red-hot Utes shut them down in overtime. Could this be Paul Wulff's final game?

10. OREGON STATE (3-8, 3-5)

Last week: Defeated Washington 38-21

This week: At Oregon, 1:30 p.m. MT, ABC

Note: After getting just 27 points in their three previous games, the Beavers exploded for 38 in the upset win over Washington.

11. Arizona (3-8, 2-7)

Last week: Defeated Arizona State 31-27

This week: Home vs. Louisiana-Lafayette, 2 p.m. MT

Note: Following their upset win over Arizona State, the Wildcats can end the season with another victory and set the stage for new coach Rich Rodriguez.

12. COLORADO (2-10, 1-7)

Last week: Lost to UCLA 45-6

This week: At Utah, 1:30 p.m. MT, Friday, ROOT

Note: After their only win of the league season a week earlier, the Buffaloes fell flat against the Bruins. They can spoil Utah's championship hopes with a win in Salt Lake.
