George Cannon Young Jr.1942 ~ 2011George Cannon Young Jr. returned to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 10th 2011. Born September 30th 1942 to George Cannon Young and Eleanor Wright Young in Salt Lake City, UT. He grew up the youngest of four boys in the Avenues. He attended West High, and he served an LDS mission in Frankfurt, Germany. He attended the University of Utah studying architecture. He married Diana Lynn Sorenson on August 18th 1968 in the Salt Lake temple. They lived in the avenues of Salt Lake in the beginning years and welcomed three children into the world. They moved to Bountiful where they were blessed with eight more children. George was a real estate broker and an insurance agent and currently served as president and owner of Renaissance School of Therapeutic Massage in Bountiful. George served in many callings for the LDS church. He served with his wife Diana as a missionary for the Addiction Recovery Program. George had a phenomenal sense of humor and loved to talk with anyone and everyone he met. He loved driving fast cars. He was a brilliant man with a vast knowledge on many subjects and loved sharing his life experiences with his family.He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diana Lynn Sorenson; his two brothers Richard and Willard; and his 10 children and their spouses, Natosha and Ed Herrmann, Cameron and Amy Young, Alissa and Mark Hyde, Heather, Cannon and Elsa Young, Nichole, Angelique and Ron Sopcich, Tyler, Troy and Janey Young, Kimberly; as well as his 16 grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, brother Kay and son Jordan.Arrangements provided by Russon Brothers Mortuary. A viewing will be held in his honor on Monday, November 14th from 6 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main. Funeral services will be held at the LDS church on 1540 N. 400 E. in Bountiful on Tuesday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
