Mary Malstrom Workman1920 ~ 2011Mary M. Workman, 91, passed on of old age as she was born; in love at home, on November 4, 2011. Sixth of ten, she was born April 18, 1920 in Murray, Utah to Edward Lorenzo Malstrom and Clara Leila Bateman. Mary graduated from Jordan High. On October 16, 1942 she married a brave Marine, Willard J. Workman. They and their only child Stephen were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Mary spent her life giving care and love to her family. Helped by sisters, she cared for her beloved mother in her later years and her sweet sister Elnora for most of her life, allowing both to pass on peacefully at home. Her siblings were very close all their lives, and loved and enjoyed each other's children. And they loved Aunt Mary. Often her nieces, nephews or grandchildren were taken along on trips or vacations to grow closer and have fun together. A kind and devoted mother, she taught how to appreciate life and her love never wavered. She was thrilled with her four grandchildren and was devoted to them.Mary loved to travel with Willard. She loved beautiful Hawaii and was thrilled to go to China, but gathering each summer with family and friends at Swan Lake, Montana was the best. She was fun! Mary was always positive, happy and fun to be with. She loved her cousins, who still have a "cousins' party". Mary appreciated the good neighbors and kind members in her current Ward. And she enjoyed her old neighbors and the wonderful folks from the East Midvale 4th Ward, where she enjoyed serving in the MIA and befriended and loved her girls. She loved the young people and they loved her.Mary made a difference in many lives, and their love for her continues.Mary is survived by her son Stephen J. (Barbara), sisters Thelma (Boyd), Evelyn (Arv) brother Alan (Dee), and brother-in-law Boyd Fergusen (Elaine), four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
