Eva Lorene Orgill Staker1919 ~ 2011Eva Lorene Orgill Staker passed away peacefully on November 4, 2011 at the age of 91 surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 30, 1919 in Draper, Utah to Leslie Joseph and Martha Irene Terry Orgill. She married J Vernon Staker, November 7, 1939 in Salt Lake City, UT and together raised their six children: Sharon Renee Robison (Dale), Linda Carlston (Michael), Karon Oldroyd (Clair), Larry Staker (Peggy), Scott Staker, Cathy Bench (Bryant.) Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Her historic home in Mt. Pleasant, Utah was a gathering and a resting place for countless family and friends who came for pancakes and lemon meringue pie. She kept an acute interest in the lives of her 21 grand-children and 51 great-grandchildren and they all held a special place in her heart. In 1995 she was honored with Governor Leavitt's Mother of the Year award. But truly this was an honor her family could have bestowed upon her every year for her constant love and service. She was an avid Jazz and BYU fan and never lost her easy laugh and ability to celebrate life. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was faithful in all her church callings and community service. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers: Willis, Elmer, Lynn and Ramon. Survived by her brother Royal Gordon Orgill. Among her last words to her family were simply, "Thank you, I love you, Bless your heart." We will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be held Monday November 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mount Pleasant 4th Ward Chapel (55 South State). Friends may call Sunday November 13, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Rasmussen Mortuary in Mount Pleasant (96 N 100 W) and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church.
