Jay Christopherson3/24/1942 ~ 11/4/2011Jay Christopherson, 69, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away November 4, 2011.Jay was born March 24, 1942, in Spanish Fork, Utah, the son of Earl Christopherson, deceased and Vivian Carlsen. He is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate of 26 years, KC and his wonderful children, Mike, Matt and Marchion.Jay graduated from University Of Phoenix in 1994. He married KC Christopherson on August 9, 1985, in Salt Lake City.Jay served as an LDS missionary in Ontario, Canada under the leadership of President Thomas S. Monson. Afterword he served in the Utah National Guard in the mid-1960s. Following this he proceeded to develop his career as a procurement specialist. His corporate successes as a contract negotiator in the fields of mining, power generation and specialty gases were held in high regard. He particularly found great satisfaction working for Air Liquide in Draper, Utah. He often thought of this as his dream job.Jay had a fantastic sense of humor and a generous heart. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. His grandchildren adored him.Jay's hobbies included wood working, gardening, occasional skiing and golfing and the great outdoors.Jay and KC have always had a family of pets. Jay now has joined his favorite dog, Kimba and precious cat Pearl and numerous other beloved pets.Jay is also survived by his three children, their spouses and eight grandchildren: Mike and Susie and their three children, Shelby, Katie, and Jenny; Matt and three children, Rylie, Saydie, and Ellie; Marchion and two children Makayla and Jacob.A celebration of Jay's life with his family will be held at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel, Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Friends are welcome to join us.In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Draper City Animal Shelter in Draper Utah or No More Homeless Pets in Jay's memory is greatly appreciated.Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com
