Coaching records: Lee is 85-17 in his ninth season. Only Timpview's Louis Wong has a better winning percentage at his current school than Lee. Sheriff is 101-35 in his 12th year.
Current winning streaks: San Juan 30 – second longest in state history, Millard 1. Since the start of the 2008 season, the Broncos have compiled a 43-2 record, losing only to Manti 26-13 in the 2008 finals and to Durango, Colo., 21-20 on Sept. 11, 2009.
San Juan's last semifinal: 2010, beat South Sevier. The two-time defending 2A champion Broncos make their fourth semi in a row and 18th in 25 years. SJ is hoping to advance to the finals for the fifth time in seven seasons.
Millard's last semifinal: 2010, lost to South Summit. Last played in a championship game in 2007 where it fell to North Summit.
1A Semifinals (only Layton Christian is new to this year's semis, replacing Altamont)
Duchesne (10-0) vs. Rich (5-5)
Series history: Rich 22-11.
Last meeting: Duchesne, 42-0 on Oct. 7 (Week 8) at home. These two also battled in the 2010 finals, which the Eagles won 21-14 in OT, and in the 2009 finals, which Rich captured 25-0. Duchesne has a three-game winning streak going against Rich including a regular season contest in 2010.
Coach vs. Coach: Duchesne's Bill Hoopes and Rich's Ashley Brown are tied 3-3.
Coaching records: Hoopes is 34-12 in his fourth season (but 31-4 since 2009) and Brown is 85-49 in his 12th year.
Current winning streaks: Duchesne 20, Rich 1. The Eagles have the second longest current winning streak and 15th longest in state history (tied with six others).
Duchesne's last semifinal: 2010, defeated Altamont en route to claiming the 1A crown. Duchesne is back in the semis for the eighth time in nine years although last year's was the first playoff game for the Eagles that season. A win would land them in the title game for the third straight year.
Rich's last semifinal: 2010, beat Monticello. The Rebels are in the semis for the sixth year in a row and ninth time in 11 seasons. They hope to make the finals for a third consecutive year and fourth time in five seasons.
Monticello (9-2) vs. LCA (5-5)
Series history: Monticello 7-1 (LCA's win came in 2008).
Last meeting: Monticello, 45-24 on Sept. 2 (Week 3) at home.
Coach vs. Coach: Monticello's Lee Chadwick is 2-0 vs. LCA's Will Hawes.
Coaching records: Chadwick is 13-9 in his second season and Hawes is 20-28 in his fifth year.
Current winning streaks: LCA 4, Monticello 2.
Monticello's last semifinal: 2010, lost to Rich. The Buckaroos haven't moved beyond the semis to play for a title since winning it all in 2004.
LCA is in its first semifinal in its eight-year history.
