Olympus' last quarterfinal: 2005, lost at Cottonwood. The Titans last captured a quarterfinal bout in 1998 when they won the 4A championship, but are 0-4 in the second round since then. Oly has its most victories since 2003.

Bountiful's last quarterfinal: 2010, defeated Spanish Fork at home before dropping to Mountain Crest in the semifinals. Coach Wall has won 32 playoff games – second most among current coaches (to Skyline's Roger DuPaix's 67) – in 25 postseason appearances.

Olympus' home playoff record: 13-5.

Timpview (9-2) vs. Westlake (4-6)

Series history: Timpview leads 3-0.

Last meeting: Timpview, 40-9 on Aug. 26 (Week 2) at home.

Coach vs. Coach: Timpview's Louis Wong is 3-0 vs. Westlake's Jason Walker.

Current winning streaks: Timpview 8, Westlake 2.

Timpview's last quarterfinal: 2010, lost at Springville. Before that setback, the Thunderbirds were four-time defending 4A champions. Timpview hasn't missed the quarterfinals since 1999, and has appeared in 19 of the past 21 quarterfinal rounds. Since 2006, the T-birds are 18-1 in the postseason and hope to advance to the semifinals for the eighth time in ten years. With a victory, Timpview will record its sixth consecutive double-digit win season.

Westlake makes its first quarterfinal in just its third season.

Timpview's home playoff record: 33-4, including nine straight.

East (10-1) vs. Skyline (7-3)

Series history: Skyline leads 20-7.

Last meeting: Skyline, 41-7 on Oct. 9, 2009 at East.

Coach vs. Coach: First meeting between East's Brandon Matich and Skyline's Roger DuPaix.

Current winning streaks: East 1, Skyline 1.

East's last quarterfinal: 2010, lost at Mountain Crest, the eventual 4A runner-up. The Leopards haven't won a quarterfinal game since 2006. But under second-year coach Brandon Matich, they have their most wins since their 13-0 championship season in 1996. Just two years ago, East was 1-8.

Skyline's last quarterfinal: 2010, lost at Fremont, the eventual 5A runner-up. Skyline is in the quarterfinal round for the 17th time in 19 years, missing only in 2006 and 2009 since 1993. The Eagles last advanced to the semis in 2008.

East and Skyline have combined for 29 state championships – East has 15 and Skyline 14 – ranking first and second since title games began in 1919.

East's home playoff record: 8-4.

3A Quarterfinals (five teams repeat from last season with Cedar, Grantsville and Stansbury the newcomers.) Juan Diego hosts its seventh straight quarterfinal and Hurricane, its fourth.

Hurricane (10-0) vs. Grantsville (7-4)

Series history: Grantsville leads 5-1.

Last meeting: Hurricane, 47-14 on Nov. 1, 2008 in a 3A first round game at home.

Coach vs. Coach: Hurricane's Chris Homer is 1-0 vs. Grantsville's Tony Cloward.

Current winning streaks: Hurricane 10, Grantsville 2.

Hurricane's last quarterfinal: 2010, beat Emery at home en route its third consecutive Class 3A title game where the Tigers lost to Juan Diego for the third time in a row. Hurricane is enjoying its fourth straight double-digit win season and seventh overall.

Grantsville's last quarterfinal: 2005, won at Morgan before losing to Pine View in the semifinals. The Cowboys have their most season victories since going 9-5 in 2003.

Hurricane's home playoff record: 11-7, including seven straight.
