Timpview's last quarterfinal: 2010, lost at Springville. Before that setback, the Thunderbirds were four-time defending 4A champions. Timpview hasn't missed the quarterfinals since 1999, and has appeared in 19 of the past 21 quarterfinal rounds. Since 2006, the T-birds are 18-1 in the postseason and hope to advance to the semifinals for the eighth time in ten years. With a victory, Timpview will record its sixth consecutive double-digit win season.
Westlake makes its first quarterfinal in just its third season.

East (10-1) vs. Skyline (7-3)
Series history: Skyline leads 20-7.

Skyline's last quarterfinal: 2010, lost at Fremont, the eventual 5A runner-up. Skyline is in the quarterfinal round for the 17th time in 19 years, missing only in 2006 and 2009 since 1993. The Eagles last advanced to the semis in 2008.
East and Skyline have combined for 29 state championships – East has 15 and Skyline 14 – ranking first and second since title games began in 1919.
East's home playoff record: 8-4.

Grantsville's last quarterfinal: 2005, won at Morgan before losing to Pine View in the semifinals. The Cowboys have their most season victories since going 9-5 in 2003.

One correction. 2006 2A finals between Millard and SJ was won by the Broncos not the Eagles. I look forward to reading your facts each week they are always full of fun information.
