ARLINGTON, Texas — TCU's fourth-straight win over BYU was simply a matter of pedestrian patience in watching the Cougars self destruct Friday night in Cowboy Stadium.

TCU defeated BYU 38-28 before a nationally televised ESPN audience.

The Cougars outgained TCU in total offense on the ground in through the air but costly turnovers at the start of both halves in the hike/punt game provided the Frogs two easy touchdowns and proved costly for the Cougars.

The game ended a five-game win streak by the Cougars and they leave Texas with a 6-3 record while Big 12-bound TCU is 6-2.

Riley Nelson threw two of his three interceptions inside TCU's 17 yard-line while in the grasp of Frog tacklers. The first happened in the second quarter with BYU facing a second-and-6 at the TCU 9-yard line. The other came on a first down at TCU's 17 in the third quarter. Those two plays, combined with the two failed snap receptions by BYU punter Riley Stephenson to begin both halves proved fatal for the Cougars.
