Ethel LaRue Rose Walton Crawley1920 ~ 2011LaRue Walton Crawley age ninety-one passed away October 27, 2011. Born September 5, 1920 in Salt Lake City to Melvin F. Rose and Alice Davis Rose. Married to James Ray Walton February 12, 1943 who preceded her in death in 1964. Married to Reed E. Crawley in 1965 who also preceded her in death. Mother to Jim (Analee) Walton, Rick (Sheila) Walton, Dennis (Wendy) Walton and Lori Jo Walton. LaRue was grandmother to ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. LaRue lived all of her life in Salt Lake raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren. She was skilled with needlework and passed on her love of crocheting to many family members and her handmade work is still treasured. Her family Christmas parties were a highlight of the season, as she had each grandchild perform a talent or skill and visit with Santa before opening presents on Christmas Eve. The family home on Park Street was always a happy place for the cousins to meet for birthday dinners, to have a sleep over, or just make sugar cookies, popcorn balls or other treats with Grandma. Camping trips to Delta, road trips and BBQs were always better with her potato salad or homemade bread. She was employed briefly by Hammond's Tots and Toys and by the Granite School District School Lunch Program. Her later years have been spent at Alta Ridge Care in Holladay who provided her with such wonderful love and care. LaRue has always been so proud of her family and their accomplishments and is loved much and will be deeply missed.Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 29th, 12:00 Noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S.
