Obituary: FRETWELL, EILEEN

Eileen E. Olson Fretwell1921 ~ 2011Our beloved mother, sister, aunt and grandmother passed away on October 10, 2011 from causes related to age. She was born to Vernie and Pauline Taylor Olson on May 21, 1921, in Baltimore, Maryland. Eileen graduated from West High School, and attended the University of Utah and Westminster College. On November 6, 1944, she married Sergeant Henry E. Fretwell, an air force gunner, while he was on furlough from service in the European air war. They had eight children. She mothered not only her own children and all of their friends, but also the children of her home daycare. A faithful member of the LDS church, she loved to read the scriptures and explore religious ideas.Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; daughters Rebecca and Sylvia; sister Martha Lee Ulbrich (Fred); and brother Thomas Olson (Colleen). She is survived by her brother Richard Olson (Mary Beth), children; Michael, Roger, Patricia Catmull (Don), Jennifer, Kathryn Jensen (Lindsay), Joseph; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.A special thank you goes out to all the wonderful caring staff at CNS hospice services, especially Charlie Piner our family's special angel.Graveside services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park at 3401 Highland Dr. Salt Lake City, on October 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
