Former Aggie and Montreal Alouettes QB Anthony Calvillo to make football history
MONTREAL — Montreal Alouettes quarterback and former Utah State quarterback Anthony Calvillo has the chance to make history during today's Canadian Thanksgiving matchup against the Toronto Argonauts at 1 p.m. at Percival Molson Stadium. The three-time Grey Cup champion is just 258 yards shy of becoming the all-time leading passer in pro-football history (CFL and NFL).
Calvillo, an 18-year CFL veteran who has spent his last 14 seasons with the Alouettes, slipped past Brett Favre for second place on the all-time list in the first quarter of last week's 32-26 win over Winnipeg.
Calvillo's 72,124 passing yards over 18 seasons are the quickest in pro-football history. Current record-holder Damon Allen amassed his 72,381 yards over a span of 23 seasons.
The 39 year old Calvillo has left a trail of broken records in his path towards passing supremacy this season, shattering CFL records for both touchdown passes and completions in Weeks three and six respectively. He currently stands alone with 414 touchdown passes, 20 more than Allen's 394, and 5,344 completed passes with five games remaining in the regular season.
The 8-5 Alouettes are currently tied for first place in the East Division with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Alouettes will play their next two games, October 10 and 16, at home at Percival Molson Stadium.

This is a HUGE accomplishment! Congratulations to Anthony Calvillo, who has always been tough-as-nails. I remember watching this guy pick himself up from the turf after big hits when he was at USU. This guy has won several CFL games with his grit, More..
