New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has opted not to enter into the 2012 presidential race, Politico is reporting.
The Garden State governor will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. MT.
"He is not running," said a fundraiser familiar with the Christie's decision, according to Politico. "Mary Pat and the gov just called tier one (donor) group to say he was out."
If these preliminary reports prove true, this would mean good news for Romney who is currently polling atop the GOP field and would likely face the biggest challenge from Christie entering the race.

Yep, flame out. It is for the best. Time for the GOP to choose a candidate who is smart, presidential and electable across the board, and focus on getting rid of the present regime.
Didn't Christie tell the media this months ago? Why is it news when he reiterates what he already said?
I like Christie but let's not forget he has only been governor for a year!! Even with that limited experience I would still take him over BO 100-1.
