LaRue Holt DeKarver1921 ~ 2011LaRue Holt DeKarver, our wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, slipped quietly away on October 1, 2011 at the age of 90.LaRue was born April 3, 1921 to Chloe Coon and David Golden Holt. She married Martin LeRoy DeKarver on September 12, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.In her youth, LaRue attended Henager Business College. She worked as an Administrative Secretary for Granite School District for 20 years. LaRue was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions in the different auxiliaries of the church both in Ward and Stake. She, along with her husband, served as directors of the Palmyra Visitor Center for two years. She was a hostess at the Church Office Building for 14 years and has served as a hostess at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building since 1993. LaRue was always giving service to someone.LaRue is survived by her three children, Martin Lynn (Josiane) of Irvine, CA, Camille Pulley (David) and David LeRoy, both of Salt Lake City. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Martin LeRoy DeKarver. She has eight wonderful grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. LaRue is also survived by a brother Golden Holt, Jr., Keller, TX.Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Valley View 8th Ward, 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East), Holladay, UT. Friends may call Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, or Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the ward. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
