PROVO — BYU held its weekly media breakfast with the brewing quarterback controversy being the chief topic of conversation. Head coach Bronco Mendenhall was noncommittal regarding which quarterback will be starting this Saturday or when that decision will be made.
All indications point to the coaching staff deciding Thursday, at the earliest. Players were asked the same questions, insisting that they're OK with whatever decision the coaching staff makes going forward.
The players in attendance this morning included tight end Austin Holt and center Terence Brown.
Overall, the team expressed a feeling of unity, believing that they'll grow from the problems they've faced early this year. Brown was asked specifically on the improvements in the Cougar ground attack.
Other topics were discussed such as San Jose State and what problems it may create come Saturday. The game will mark the first time Mendenhall can ever remember having played four straight games at home.

Patriot; attempting to stir the pot a bit? If Heaps has any class, he will buckle down and work to earn the starting position back(if Nelson has taken it away). With the schedule containing mostly weak teams this year, There will be opportunity for More..
Let's be honest - Jake Heaps is a bust. He's horrible.
If you've DVR'd the Utah game, go back and watch him try to throw that ball out of boards (after the bad snap), what a joke - seroiously!

I like the Youtube video tribute to Riley titled "Ode to Riley Nelson's Hair." Nelson deserves to start. For the first time this season, the offense was able to win a football game. Maybe even more important is that the team trusts and More..
