Irene R. Hatch105Irene Rogers Hatch, age 105, died peacefully at her home in Murray, Utah, on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. She was born June 13, 1906 in Lehi (now Mesa), Arizona, daughter of Isaac H. and Myra Sanders Rogers. She graduated from Mesa Union High School in 1925. She married Charles Jenner Hatch on January 13, 1928, in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Irene was a lifelong and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various positions in all auxiliaries of the Church. She especially enjoyed her time serving with her husband in the Cub Scout organization and teaching Primary. After her husband's death in 1966 she worked for the Watters Garden Center in Prescott, Arizona, for many years. They shared her knowledge and expertise in gardening with their customers. She moved to her daughter's home in Murray in 1993 and enjoyed attending the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples several days a week until just a few years ago.Irene and Jenner were blessed with seven children; Duane (Rose Marie), Clinton, UT; Lorraine Smith (Larry), Murray, UT; David (Delcena), Mesa, AZ; Darrell (Rinda), Centerville, UT; Von (late Barbara), Montezuma Lake, AZ; and Roger Kay and Shirley Ann who died as infants. They had 24 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two of her nine siblings; Francis (Darlene) Rogers, Portland, Oregon; Lucille Rogers Burnham, Gilbert, AZ; and one sister-in-law, Leah Rogers, Coolidge, AZ. In lieu of flowers please donate to a favorite charity or the Missionary Fund of the Church. Funeral Services will be Monday, October 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church located at 5735 S. Fashion Blvd., Murray, Utah. A viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., and Monday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. A viewing will be held on October 8, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave, Prescott, AZ. Graveside services will follow at Chino Valley Cemetery, Arizona.
