LAS VEGAS — The 51s scored an unearned run in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and send the 51s to a 4-3 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Friday night.
Ryan Shealy led off the sixth for Las Vegas with a single to center. He advanced to second on a ground out and to third on a wild pitch by Ryan Chaffee (1-1). With two outs, Chris Woodward hit a soft liner on one hop to second baseman Jean Almanzar, who had the ball go off his glove for error and that brought home Shealy with the eventual winning run.
The Bees had tied the game at three in the top of the sixth on a bases loaded walk by Cole Armstrong and a wild pitch. Alexi Amarista led Salt Lake with four hits, including two doubles, while Armstrong and Paul McAnulty each had two hits and one run batted in.
The Bees have now dropped seven consecutive games to Las Vegas dating back to July 6.
