COLORADO SPRINGS — The Bees put up season highs in both runs and hits, as Salt Lake routed the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 23-11 Tuesday night.
All nine members of the Bees' starting lineup had at least one hit, as they banged out twenty-seven hits in the game, and all nine scored at least one run. The Sky Sox led 6-2 after three innings before Salt Lake sent twelve batters to the plate and scored seven runs to take the lead. The inning was highlighted by a game tying three run homer by Efren Navarro and a go ahead RBI single by Rian Kiniry.
Salt Lake led 10-7 going into the seventh when they, again, sent twelve batters to the plate and scored nine runs to put the game away. Jeremy Moore led off the inning with a home run and later added a two-run triple. Eric Junge (8-9) picked up the win despite allowing seven runs on thirteen hits in five innings. Kevin Richardson led the Bees with four hits and five runs batted in, while Paul McAnulty added four hits and four RBI. The two teams combined for 34 runs and 45 hits, both Salt Lake franchise records.
