Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, greet supporters during a campaign stop at Hires Big H on 700 East and 400 South in Salt Lake City on June 24. Remaining negative perception about Romney's membership in the LDS Church would dissipate if he were elected, much like it did when John F. Kennedy was elected president in 1960, Newell Bringhurst said at Friday's Foundation for Apologetic Information and Research (FAIR) Conference at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy.

Mitt Romney gave the LDS Church a million dollars. Someone made a big mistake by giving that information to the media. There are many people who give large sums of money to all churches. These contributions are made confidentially. The donors don't want this information given to the public. All churches need money donated to them or they could not exist.

If Mr. Wilson is so concerned about confidentiality of donations, why does he rebroadcast this information in a public forum?
If I understand correctly (and I may not), the disclosure was given on his tax return, which he reported as part of his campaign. If anyone is to be blamed for disclosing his contributions, it would be Romney himself.
