Real Salt Lake adds Wagner for rest of season

With Real Salt Lake defender Chris Wingert expected to miss four to six weeks because of the broken left wrist he suffered in last weekend's match in Toronto, the club signed veteran defender Blake Wagner for the rest of the season.

SANDY — With Real Salt Lake defender Chris Wingert expected to miss four to six weeks because of the broken left wrist he suffered in last weekend's match in Toronto, the club signed veteran defender Blake Wagner for the rest of the season.

The left-footer was with expansion Vancouver this season until he was released on July 28. Prior to that Wagner spent four years with FC Dallas from 2006 to 2009.

He's expected to provide immediate depth for Tony Beltran and Robbie Russell on the back line.
