Margaret Janet Stahr Swalberg 1916 ~ 2011

Margaret Janet Stahr Swalberg, age 95, passed away August 5, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 29, 1916. She was the 8th child born to Joseph Francis and Louisa Belle Wickel Stahr. Margaret had a happy childhood surrounded by her brothers and sisters. When she was 19 years old, her father died leaving a large family. She willingly did her part to help support the family. In 1936, she began working at Hotel Utah as an elevator operator and met Ernest Uhlan "Rudy" Swalberg, who was a doorman at the hotel. They were married October 4, 1940, at the Lion House in Salt Lake City. On April 3, 1981, their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He passed away December 13, 1994. Margaret lived most of her married life in Murray and worked as a dental assistant for many years. She was an active member of the LDS Church and loved to work with children. She and her husband served a service mission on Temple Square. Margaret was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a very good cook. Her children and their families have sweet memories of her wonderful Sunday dinners and her fun and loving ways. Margaret is survived by a sister, Louise Gustafson, Salt Lake City, Utah; a son, Ernest David (Mary Ann) Swalberg, Murray, Utah; and a daughter, Julie Ann (Craig) Dansie, Cody, Wyoming; nine grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, eight siblings and a grandson, Joseph Dansie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Murray 25th Ward, 363 E Vine Street, Murray, Utah at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held Monday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S State Street, Murray, Utah, and at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
