Peyton Manning has a new long-term deal in time to report to training camp.
The Indianapolis Colts' star quarterback still hasn't been cleared to practice.
Colts owner Jim Irsay said he was "thrilled" to sign the only four-time MVP in league history to a deal that will likely keep him in Indianapolis for the rest of his career. It's a five-year contract for $90 million with $69 million of that paid in the first three years, Irsay posted on his Twitter account.
By getting the long-term deal done, Manning's salary cap number will be reduced this season to $16 million, allowing the team to sign more of its own free agents. The Colts have already re-signed two key veterans — safety Melvin Bullitt and kicker Adam Vinatieri — this week. They also lost linebacker Clint Session to Jacksonville in free agency.
They reportedly also signed running back Joseph Addai, shortly after Manning's deal was announced.
In Saturday's other NFL training camp news:
Santonio Holmes signed his big contract to stay with the New York Jets and be the big playmaker he was for Mark Sanchez last season.
Holmes agreed to a five-year deal worth about $50 million on Wednesday after New York made him its top priority once the free agency period began earlier this week.
New York also officially signed wide receiver Jeremy Kerley, the team's fifth-round pick.
Holmes, 27, was acquired last offseason from Pittsburgh and had 52 catches for 746 yards and six touchdowns for the Jets after returning from a four-game suspension to start the season.
The Chicago Bears added to their backfield and defensive line, agreeing to a two-year contract with running back Marion Barber and a one-year deal with nose tackle Amobi Okoye.
The also re-signed cornerback and special teams contributor Corey Graham to a one-year deal.
Barber spent the last six seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, running for 4,358 yards and 47 touchdowns — sixth in the NFL during that span. He added 1,280 yards receiving.
He was officially released by the Cowboys this week along with former Pro Bowl receiver Roy Williams, who joined the Bears on Friday.
Okoye wasn't out of work for long, either, after being cut by Houston on Saturday. The youngest first-round draft pick in NFL history when he was taken 10th overall in 2007 at age 19, he had a career-high 44 tackles in 2010, including three sacks.
Two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Osi Umenyiora ended his holdout after a day and reported to the New York Giants. Umenyiora reported to training camp Saturday afternoon after missing the opening day of training camp at the team's headquarters.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed free agent defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins to a five-year contract and traded former defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round pick in next year's draft. Jenkins is the fifth major acquisition for the Eagles, who signed free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha on Friday.
Veteran Kevin Burnett signed with the Miami Dolphins as a replacement for Channing Crowder at inside linebacker.
The Cincinnati Bengals reached a contract agreement with free agent cornerback Nate Clements, giving themselves a replacement for Johnathan Joseph. The 31-year-old Clements became a free agent on Thursday, when San Francisco released the 10-year veteran.
The Bengals also signed quarterbacks Andy Dalton and Bruce Gradkowski before their first practice of training camp.
