SALT LAKE CITY — Michael Stockton, a graduated senior from the Westminster men's basketball team and the son of former Jazz great and NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton, has signed a contract to play professionally with the BG Karlsruhe Polar Bears in Germany.
BG Karlsruhe is based in Karlsruhe, Germany, and plays in the 2nd Basketball Bundesliga-Pro A. The team finished eighth in the 16-team league last season. All 16 teams in the league are located in cities in Germany.
Stockton will be required to report to training camp on August 1.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue my basketball career at the professional level," Stockton said. "Karlsruhe is a quality club and I am excited to get started."
Stockton finished his career at Westminster second in school history in steals and third in assists. He averaged 18.2 points per game as a senior and was named first team All-Frontier and third team NAIA All-American. On May 31, Stockton became the second Griffin in three years to get a pre-draft workout with the Utah Jazz.

I certainly wish Michael Stockton the very best. His dad was a great player and class guy. I am sure Michael will make his father proud.
I was taken back a few years... looking at this picture...he could be John Stockton's twin...wow talk about like father, like son...on so many levels...good luck to young Mr. Stockton
Karlsruhe's a great city. I'm sure he'll enjoy his time there.
