Virginia Lou McMahon 1924 ~ 2011

Virginia Lou McMahon, born May 10, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward Fayle Huddleston and Emma Jane (Edwards) Huddleston, passed away June 30, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married James D. McMahon on August, 7, 1943.She graduated from Delta High and attended the LDS Business College. She was a great support to her husband as he served in the military and finished his degrees at the U of U. Together they supported the U of U and the College of Pharmacy as much as possible and were members of the U.Ph. A. and the A.Ph.A. As an active member of the Faculty Wives she served as a counselor. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and held positions in the Relief Society and the Primary organizations of the LDS Church. She loved her garden, her music and her oil and tole painting. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She is survived and loved by her daughters Sharron (Marvin) Morris and Donita (Earl) Xaiz; grandchildren Matthew (Tina) Morris, Melinda (Devin) Osterhout, Chelsea Koch, Jessica Xaiz and Carly Xaiz; great-grandchildren Tara and Marie Morris; Clara, Jonas and Nell Osterhout; Gabrielle and Parker Jensen. She is preceded in death by her husband. The family extends its thanks and appreciation to the caregivers at Care Source. We express our love to all those who made special effort to make her life more meaningful these past few months. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 7, at 11 a.m. in the East Millcreek 16th ward building, 3408 Celeste Way (3408 South 3000 East), where friends may call on Wednesday, July 6, from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, 9:45 to 10:45 prior to services. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South.
