Louise Peterson 1909 ~ 2011

Our amazing and incrediblemother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on June 29, 2011. She was born in Trenton, Utah to Gilbert and Mattie Hardy on May 19, 1909. Married Jess Peterson in 1928. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1977. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in many positions, including Relief Society President and Primary Counselor. Louise was a temple worker in the Salt Lake and Jordan River temples for over 20 years, before serving an LDS Mission in North Carolina at the age of 78. She was the oldest single sister called on a proselyting mission. She was also active in the DUP for over 75 years. She worked at Brady's Bakery for 25 years, and decorated many beautiful cakes for her family and friends. She also made hundreds of quilts for "Project Smile." She loved swimming, and won Great-Grandmother Swimmer of the Year two years in a row. Survived by her children, Gilbert (Nola) Peterson, Sandy; Dolores Anderson, Monroe; Margaret (Alan) Glover, Bluffdale; Marlon (Hannelore) Peterson, Sandy; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grand-children, and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at the Crescent 16th Ward, 251 East 10600 South, where there will be a viewing Tuesday 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery. www.goffmortuary.com
