Merla Jaques Foust "Grandma Homer"Comment on this story
Our loving, giving, cheerful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, sister and friend passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 26, 2011, in Coalville, Utah.Born August 22, 1928, in Devil's Slide, UT, to John Franklin and Darlene Clark Jaques. Spent her childhood in Devil's Slide and graduated from Morgan High School. Married Homer Victor Foust June 27, 1946. Her passing was on the eve of their 65th wedding anniversary. She was a member of the LDS Church serving in numerous callings including Relief Society President, Compassionate Service Committee, Visiting Teacher and teacher. Her most precious possession was her family. Every great-grandchild has a cross-stitch for their birth and every grandchild has one for their wedding. She especially loved her grandchildren and she always had "Grandma Homer's" cookies ready when they came to visit. She jumped on the trampoline, had tea parties, read stories, and played dress-up. She is survived by her husband, Homer; two daughters, Vicky and Steve Richins, Georgia and Karl Robertson; eight grandchildren and spouses; 24 great-grandchildren. All because two people fell in love!! Also, sisters, Rhea Iverson and Edna Little. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Thelma Rees, Della Stephens; brother, Dean Jaques; son-in-law, Charles L. Jenkins. Viewing will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. and funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Hoytsville Chapel with a viewing one hour before. A special thanks to all emergency responders who tried so hard to save her.
