Helen Smith Searcy Burke 1921 ~ 2011

Helen Smith Searcy Burke, 90, passed away on June 26, 2011 of cancer. She was born on March 31, 1921 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Parley Pratt and Leona Caroline Allen Smith. She married Robert Roy Searcy in April of 1940 in Salt Lake City, they were later divorced. She married Edward Burke and they were later divorced. Helen lived and worked for eight years in California, then moved back to Utah where she worked for Deseret Pharmaceutical as a Medical Assembler. She was involved with Civil Defense, American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of the LDS church. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Survived by daughter Helen Kay (Glade) Peterson, Lehi, sons, Ricky Gene Searcy and Ted Lynn (Annie) Searcy, West Valley, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, sisters; Marion (Dan-deceased) Danjanovich, Claire (LeRoy-deceased) Cordner, Carolyn (George) Showell, brothers; Allen (Joyce) Smith, Willis (Marilyn) Smith, Paul (Shirley) Smith, brother-in-law Cliff Hales. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Don Roy Searcy, grandsons, Tim Searcy and Chris L. Searcy, great-grandson C J Olsen, sisters, Deon (Darwin) Bagley and LaRae Hales. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi City Cemetery, 1100 North 400 East. Online guest book at wingmortuary.com.
