Douglas Edward Irwin 1959 ~ 2011

RIVERTON - Douglas Edward Irwin, age 51, passed away June 23, 2011, at the University Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah.Doug was born August 13, 1959 in Hawthorne, Nevada. He was the son of Charles E. Irwin and Twyla Mangum. Doug grew up in Hawthorne, NV. He attended and graduated at the Mineral Co High schools. He loved and played sports all his life. In High School, he played football, basketball and golf. He had a six handicap while on the High School golf team. He played and managed the Co. Rec. soft ball team for eight years, until now. He was a member and an Elder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called to serve to teach the Deacons quorum. He loved the boys in his class and to this day he still calls them his boys. He loved them dearly. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Todd John Irwin, his grandparents Ernest Wesley Mangum, Elva Irene Ross, John Wesley Irwin and Nora Blance Taylor. He is survived by his four children, Brittany Ann (Kevin) Caldwell of Hinckley, UT, Charles Edward Irwin, Brenton Douglas Irwin and Erika Dott Irwin all of Riverton, UT; grandparents Charles Edward Irwin and Twyla Arlene Mangum of Riverton, UT; brother Charles (Shelly) Irwin of Rock Springs, WY; sister Debra Ann (Leo) Madrid of South Jordan, UT; seven nieces, three nephews and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S.) where a viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
