Bobbie J. Butters "Jim" U.S. Navy Ret.

Bobbie James Butters returned home to his Heavenly Father on June 15, 2011. He was born August 31, 1930 to Vernon H. Butters and Polly Fausett Butters in Wallsburg, Utah. He attended schools in Heber City, Utah and at the age of 17, Bobbie joined the United States Navy. He served 30 years and earned the rank of Chief Boatswains Mate. After retirement from the Navy, he returned to Pearl Harbor as a ship rigger and worked there for 25 years. Bobbie married Mie Kinjo on July 15, 1966 in Okinawa, Japan. She preceded him in death in August 1992. He returned to Utah in August of 2001 to live with his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and DeLoy Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Polly; his wife, Mie; stepfather, George Mabery; brother, Lamont; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Charles Newcomb; sister-in-law, Mary Butters; and brother-in-law, James Barnes. He is survived by his sister, Joan Barnes, Salt Lake City; brother, Paul Butters, Wallsburg, Utah; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and DeLoy Evans; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside 1st Ward, 5425 S. 600 W., with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Heber City Cemetery with full military honors. Funeral under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S.
