Euleda Bailey Cook 1914 ~ 2011

Euleda Bailey Cook of Fountain Green, Utah passed away June 14, 2011 of causes incident of age.She was born January 18, 1914 in Moroni, Utah to Thomas Alma Bailey and Lizetta Lauritzen Bailey, the fourth of six daughters all of whom are deceased with the exception of Audrey Bailey (Livingston). With no brothers in the family, the girls all worked hard on the family farm. After graduating from Moroni High School, she married Scott Cook from Fountain Green on April 22, 1932 at Moroni, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on March 27, 1935. He died June 4, 1988. They are the parents of eight children: Carolyn Garrett (Clyde) of Fruit Heights; Doris Nielsen (Robert) of Sandy; Sonia Robertson of Fairview; Frank Scott (Beryl) of Moroni; James Louis (Judy) of Fountain Green; Paul Gordon (Gaye) of Spanish Fork; Lynn Bailey (Nora) of Moroni; and Beatrice Dyches (Tom) of Chester. Euleda has 66 grandchildren, 109 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren. Scott and Euleda were known for always helping others. She made hundreds of quilts and pillow cases which she gave to the delight of her posterity and friends. Grandma Cook's quilts are cherished by everyone. Always active and serving in the LDS Church, Euleda was very supportive of her husband while he was serving as Bishop of the Fountain Green Ward from March 17, 1946 to Aug. 25, 1957, a period of 11 1/2 years. She served as President of the YWMIA, Ward and Stake Relief Society President, and was a faithful visiting teacher. She sang in the Fountain Green Ward Choir for over 60 years. Scott and Euleda served an LDS Proselytizing Mission in the Texas-Houston Mission during 1978-79. Euleda was a friend to everyone and was adored and loved by all who knew her. She was happiest when she was with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Scott, daughter, Carolyn Garrett; parents, sisters, Zella Harris, Relia Kellet, Marceline Maughan and Pearl Bailey and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Aiken Cook and three grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fountain Green LDS Chapel. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 .m. and Saturday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the chapel in Fountain Green. Interment in the Fountain Green City Cemetery.
