The Utah women's basketball team has announced its 2011-12 schedule, with the non-conference schedule featuring several in-state rivalries in preparation for the Utes inaugural Pac-12 campaign.
Highlighting the schedule are road games against Big 10 foe Michigan (Nov. 17) and SEC competitor Arkansas (Nov. 20). The Utes also continue their rivalry with BYU with a single game on Dec. 10 in Provo. Other in-state games are against Southern Utah (Nov. 13), Weber State (Dec. 1) and Utah Valley (Dec. 28).
Utah travels to UTSA for a tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Other games include Idaho State (Dec. 6), Texas Southern (Dec. 17) and New Mexico State (Dec. 21).
"I am really excited about our non-conference schedule," Utah head coach Anthony Levrets said. "I feel like this schedule will prepare us for a very difficult Pac-12 schedule. We are happy that we are keeping our in-state rivalries alive while also playing other top teams throughout the country."
The Pac-12 portion of the schedule was released in November. The conference schedule is comprised of 18 games for each institution, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday. Utah will play six opponents both home and away and four opponents on a single-game basis - two at home and two away. The single-play opponents will rotate every two years.
Utah is scheduled to play home-and-away games with Stanford, California, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon and Oregon State, with single dates against Washington State, Washington, UCLA and USC.
