Johanna (Annie) Marie Sierag 1922 ~ 2011

SALT LAKE CITY - Johanna (Annie) Marie Sierag passed away on May 9, 2011.She was born December 22, 1922 to Cornelis and Maria Sierag in Leiden, Netherlands. Johanna gave up a lucrative sewing business in the Netherlands to accompany her mother and sister to America when she was 28 years old. She wanted to live close to her family following World War II. Johanna enjoyed gardening, sewing knitting and needlepoint. She was an active member of the LDS church. She spent at least 41 years as a ward and stake librarian. She loved to go to the temple and often took the elderly to attend the temple. She worked as the alteration's manager at Auerbach's and later worked as a clothing designer and pattern maker at Utah Tailor Mills for many years. Three generations of children in her family loved to go to Aunt Johanna's house to play with her unique toys. Johanna and her sister Marie, were dearly loved and remembered for their wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Johanna is survived by many caring cousins and their children. There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service at Myer's Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com
