The United States needs to establish a cheap energy policy as soon as possible. Wind mills and solar energy can make a contribution, but they do not in any realistic way address our nation's needs. We require cheap energy in order to survive and to compete in the global marketplace.
America needs to utilize the abundant energy resources it has. We need to utilize oil, natural gas, coal and nuclear energy. America has the technical know-how to make all of these energy sources safe and clean, but we will not be able to afford to do so without cheap energy itself.
Refusing to use fossil fuels and nuclear power is crippling America's economic life. The cost of energy affects everything we buy and use. Plug-in cars, for example, will not work without plentiful electricity.
