PROVO — Rescue teams lowered two rock climbers stranded on a 350-foot cliff to the ground Wednesday evening.
Provo police say Dan Walsh, 23, Salt Lake City and Sean Burton, 22, Draper, were rappelling near the mouth of Rock Canyon in an area known as Bad Bananas around 5:40 p.m., when they got stuck 15 feet away from the cliff face, unable to move up or down.
Police say the two were on opposite ends of one rope using a single anchor point.
The rescuers set up systems above each victim to stabilize them and lower them to safety.
The climbers had scraped arms and hands but were not seriously injured.
