Archie Peter Christensen 1915 ~ 2011 Archie Peter Christensen, 96 passed away in Delta, Utah on May 3, 2011. Archie was born February 7, 1915 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Joseph Christian Christensen and Frederikke Marie Jensen. On October 25, 1944 he married Edna Brinkerhoff in the Salt Lake Temple. Edna passed away in 1966. He later married Shirley Jorgensen on August 3, 1974 in the Provo Temple. Archie moved from Mount Pleasant to Flowell Utah at the age of 15 with his family. In 1933 he graduated from Millard High School. Soon after, he served in the Texas Louisiana mission. Archie and his brother Orson enlisted in the US Navy together in 1942 serving aboard the USS Lesuth during World War II. As an active member of the LDS Church he served in and fulfilled many callings. He was elected to three different 4-year terms as Millard County Commissioner as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Flowell Electric Association. His occupation was raising cattle and farming which he did into his nineties. Interests and hobbies included: Pine nut picking, ice fishing, politics, socializing, and eating ice cream. He was very involved with family and has a large posterity. He is survived by Kathy (Richard) Davidson, Kevin (Marlene) Christensen, Lester Christensen, Eldon (Barbara) Christensen, Ken (Sarena) Christensen, Nancy (Paul) Limburg, 33 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren. Archie is preceded in death by spouses Edna Brinkerhoff and Shirley Jorgensen, granddaughter Jennifer Davidson, and siblings, Chris Christensen, Ivin Christensen, Reed Christensen, Ruth Allen, Ruby Christensen, Melvin Christensen, Orson Christensen, and Lillian MacArthur. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Flowell Ward Chapel, 500 N. 4200 W. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Fillmore City Cemetery.
