Betty Lou Johnson Williams, age 78, passed away April 28, 2011 under the watchful eye of a merciful Father in Heaven and her family while being welcomed into the arms of those who have passed before her. She was lovingly cared for and aided during her 30-day bout with cancer by her children. Betty was born to McCoy and Alice Johnson at the family home in Grantsville, Utah on November 27, 1932. She was the middle of five children, raised in Grantsville, and loved every moment of her childhood. While attending Grantsville High School, she met and fell in love with Robert ("Bobby") Williams. They were married October 4, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were elated to bring into the world four healthy children whom they dedicated their lives to. Betty was ambitious; she was a business owner and secretary throughout her career. She was involved in her church and community throughout her life and loved serving other people. She was a devout member of the LDS church and enriched the lives of everyone she came into contact with. God blessed her with the gift of music with which she played the accordion, piano, and organ. She was the ward organist for over 30 years and never missed an opportunity to serve others with her many talents. She was very social and loved making and keeping friends and also going dancing. God and family were always #1 to her. She is survived by brother Charles (Sue) Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother Larry (Karen) Johnson of Grantsville, Utah; sister-in-law Maxine Clark of Murray, Utah; son Scott (Cathy) Williams, son Bryan (Jennifer) Williams, daughter Jennifer (Steve) Symonds all of Grantsville, Utah; daughter Allison (Jim) Parker of Knoxville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years, Robert ("Bobby"), sisters Bernadine and Lorraine, and parents McCoy and Alice. Funeral services will be held at the Durfee Street Ward Chapel on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in Grantsville, Utah. A viewing will be offered from 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. the same day and the funeral will commence at 1 p.m.
